Lumigan eye drops (0.01%) is a prostaglandin analog manufactured by Allergan Inc ,used to treat high fluid pressure inside the eyes (intraocular hypertension) caused due to glaucoma or any other eye diseases.
Many times your mind is in a complete state of suspicion where you are uncertain why is your eye constantly blinking off the pressure. It becomes a subject of matter because eyes are man’s true treasure and one is very sensitive about them. Lumigan eye drops help you lower down the fluid pressure by increasing the amount of fluid that drains out. It serves as a curative measure to treat glaucoma and other causes of intense pressure inside the eyes.
Make sure you read the guidelines mentioned on the product before you start its application. Apply this medication nowhere else but affected areas. Lumigan dosage 0.01% is advisable.
The first and foremost step is hygiene. Wash your hands first. Refrain from touching the dropper tip or let it touch your eye. Lumigan eye drops contain a preservative that can affect your contact lenses. So remove them before using this product.
Action: The best way to apply these drops is to lie on your bed or sofa. Now, tilt your head back, wide open your eyes. Look straight upwards and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch. Drop the drops slowly. Look downwards and gently close your eyes, avoid squeezing them. Place one finger at the extreme corner of your eye, parallel to your nose, and start applying mild pressure so that the product does not drain out.
Avoid blinking and rubbing your eyes. You can wear your lenses after 15 minutes.
Using Lumigan eye drops, you may experience burning, irritation, redness near eyelids, feeling as if something is running in your eyes, dry or watery eyes, increased sensitivity to light, and vision changes. You may also face brown discoloration of the iris. An increase in eye lens number, power, length, the thickness may occur but it’s very rare. So, consult your ENT surgeon or doctor if you experience any of these.
If you’re allergic to any eye medication, concern your doctor first. While applying Lumigan eye drops, make sure you remove your contact lenses. If the drops drain out by chance and roll down to your cheeks, make sure you wipe them off and do not let enter them in your mouth. Avoid using it if you’re pregnant or on breastfeeding. This medication is not preferable for patients below 16 years of age.
